Commissioner Marta Kos Reaffirms EU Support During Visit to North Macedonia

European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos visited North Macedonia to discuss the country’s progress on its European integration path and the implementation of the Reform Agenda under the EU Growth Plan for the Western Balkans. During the visit, Commissioner Kos met with senior government officials, parliamentary representatives and civil society organisations to discuss the next steps in advancing reforms and strengthening cooperation with the European Union.

Discussions focused on accelerating key reforms, improving governance and supporting North Macedonia’s gradual integration into the European Union. Commissioner Kos also visited EU-funded projects and met with young people to highlight the opportunities available through programmes such as Erasmus+ and Horizon Europe.

The visit reaffirmed the European Union’s continued commitment to supporting North Macedonia on its path towards EU membership, with reforms remaining at the centre of efforts to deliver tangible benefits for citizens, strengthen institutions and foster sustainable economic development.
