The 'Support to the Implementation of the Public Finance Management (PFM) Reform Programme 2024–2027' project aims to strengthen North Macedonia’s financial governance and improve public service delivery. By enhancing fiscal discipline, strategic resource allocation, and public internal financial controls, the project contributes to a more transparent and efficient management of public funds.

Through policy advice, capacity building, and technical assistance, it supports the Ministry of Finance and related institutions in implementing the Public Finance Management Reform Programme 2025–2028. The initiative plays a key role in promoting accountability, efficiency, and trust in public institutions, directly contributing to North Macedonia’s EU integration efforts.

The specific objective is to improve the legislation and capacity of key stakeholders involved in the implementation of the Public Finance Management Reform Programme by providing technical assistance to achieve the expected results described in the Public Finance Management Reform Programme.

• Strengthened monitoring systems in the implementation of the PFM reform to timely report on the implementation of the EU Growth Plan and Budget Support Operations.
• Improved Public Internal Financial Controls and internal audit by supporting the implementation of reforms foreseen in the Public Internal Financial Control Law.
• Increased capacity of the Public Finance Academy to deliver high-quality training in Public Finance Management areas to both the staff of the Ministry of Finance and Budget Users.
• Improved capacity of institutions involved in the implementation of the PFM reform programme to deliver expected results promptly.
