Project Description

This action supports the Customs Administration's operational and technical capacity strengthening by supplying specialised equipment to the Sector for Control and Investigations (Law Enforcement Department). The project focuses on enhancing customs officers' ability to carry out effective inspections, investigations, and field operations in the fight against cross-border crime, illicit trade, and corruption.

By providing modern screening and customs control equipment, including non-intrusive inspection tools, detection devices, and field analysis instruments, the project improves the efficiency, accuracy, and safety of customs operations. It also reinforces the capacity of mobile teams to operate across the country, contributing to stronger border control, improved law enforcement performance, and alignment with EU standards.
Specific Objective

The overall objective is to strengthen the Customs Administration's capacity to combat cross-border crime, illicit trade, and corruption effectively.

The specific objectives are:

• Enhance the technical and operational capacity of the Sector for Control and Investigations.
• Improve the effectiveness and accuracy of customs inspections and field operations.
• Strengthen the ability to detect illicit goods, controlled substances, and hidden items.
• Support safe, efficient, and modern enforcement practices in line with EU standards.
